Mansfield Field of Honor

You remember learning about the circulatory system in school, right? There was that picture of the man and all the red oxygenated blood leaving the heart only to return blue after fueling the body.

We talk a lot about “blue” and “red” in the first responder world. For MPD Detective Nicki Boldrighini, blue and red blood course figuratively through her just as it does literally: a five-year veteran of MPD, Nicki also happens to be the daughter of the Mansfield Fire Chief.

Today marked the opening of the 3rd annual Mansfield Field of Honor. The display commemorates the service of first responders and armed services members. It’s a beautiful sight, an awe-inspiring manifestation of patriotism, commitment to community, and a reminder of generations of proud public service provided by so many from Mansfield. In this photo, Det. Boldrighini posed with Field of Honor organizer Jeri Rumsis at the two flags flying in support of police officers and firefighters. Thank you, Jeri, for all the hard work you do to make this possible.
