In 2017, MPD became one of only 175 departments nationwide participating in the Pink Patch Project. Started by the Seal Beach (CA) Police Dept. in 2013 as a way to raise breast cancer awareness, officers wore pink versions of their PD patch on their uniforms for the month of October. The following year, nearby Irwindale (CA) PD took the idea a step further and, in addition to wearing the patches, sold their pink patches to the public as a way to raise money for local breast cancer support initiatives and research programs. At the end of 2017, the project membership had ballooned to over 260 agencies!
We have only 16 remaining 2017 patches! Get yours by clicking the “Buy Now” button below!
